The corona pandemic is like a magnifying glass making visible a range of problems. Vulnerable groups are becoming even more vulnerable, in Denmark and in the Global South. The pandemic points to inequalities within both societies, and this could be a first step in doing something about the situation.
In Chile, Ollas Communas serve food to people, who have lost their job during the Corona pandemic. In FællesSkabet’s fridge in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, Denmark, people can collect the surplus food of others. Both initiatives of solidarity make people join during a time when we are encouraged to keep to ourselves.
According to the new do-tank 2030beyond, the SDGs offer a chance to emerge from the current crisis stronger and more resilient, on track to a world in harmony, where all people can lead a sustainable, productive and healthy life. But for that to happen, we need political leadership, says the founder of 2030beyond, Kirsten Brosbøl.
